| Biography |
Daria Podmetina, Dr. Sc. (Technology) & PhD (Economics), is an Associate professor at Lappeenranta University of Technology, LUT School of Engineering Science, Kouvola Research Unit, Finland. Daria has wide experience in external funding sourcing, developing and managing large European research and educational projects. Daria is a leader for cross-disciplinary research project portfolio in innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, internationalization and education in LUT Kouvola. As a member of open innovation team, Daria promotes open and collaborative innovation principles in research, teaching, coaching and consulting practices. Daria’s own research focus is in innovation and international management field, specifically in open and collaborative innovation, internationalization, global R&D, and emerging markets. She has over 30 academic journal and book chapters’ publications (incl. Journals like TFSC, Management decisions, etc.). Daria is a member of Academy of Management, a scientific board member of ISPIM (the International Society for Professional Innovation Management) and WOIC (World Open Innovation Conference) conferences. She is developing and teaching master and doctoral level courses in innovation management (including open innovation), project management, international business and research methods at LUT and internationally.
Daria is also keen in innovative teaching methods (blending, online education, industry challenge-based education etc) and is part of European project for Entrepreneurship, sustainability and social innovation for school education (DOIT project http://www.doit-europe.net) and coordinating international project ArtIST aiming at integrating Arts in STEM education.
