ArtIST Events: Partners meeting in Eindhoven (17-21 October 2021)

TEAM ARTIST AT THE DUTCH DESIGN WEEK IN EINDHOVEN!

The Dutch Design Week is taking place these days in Eindhoven, Netherlands (its program can be found here https://ddw.nl/en/programme ). The event is back in the city after the virtual edition of last year, with higher expectations both from visitors and organizers and positive vibes and synergies. Throughout the city, visitors can again enjoy special projects and exciting designs.

Our team is currently at the Artist project meeting in Eindhoven hosted by Yvonne Kirkels Ph.D. and Ger Post from Fontys University of Applied Science. The project team was focused on the main financial and reporting matters, upcoming winter school organization, and the development of the educational module.

In addition to the project meeting, we organized a co-creation workshop on STEAM education, competencies and development of STEAM modules, and a “Train the trainers workshop” on Art and creativity tools for STEM teachers. Special attention was given to “What stimulates your curiosity?” Guest lectures Danae Bodewes and Ilse Ouwens showed that curiosity is a spark we need in education and how art is related to it. The event was conducted in a hybrid format, so both offline visitors and online participants could take advantage of the event.

Under the guidance of guest speaker Famke van Lieshout we worked on the use of design-based research and action research in the ArtIST project. The critical reflection highlighted the various ways we can use this research in our project. We are happy to have gained new insights into conducting and publishing research results of Artist project.
