Il Bello – Pisa Summer School

The 2022 edition of the Innovation, Creativity and Arts course will take place in the beautiful and inspiring city of Pisa on 12-17 September 2022. “Il Bello” Pisa Summer School” will provide students with an opportunity to explore art and creative approaches to entrepreneurship and innovation management. 

If you are interested in Arts, creativity and innovation and want to better understand entrepreneurship modes, innovations and business models in the art industries, then this programme is made for you. And we are glad to welcome you at Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies headquarters!

The Pisa summer school is  the fourth edition of the Innovation, Creativity and Arts STEAM course developed by partners within ArtIST project.The previous courses were organised online  – ArtIST Winter School 2021, Summer School 2021 “Sound of innovation” with focus on music in Miskolc, Hungary and “Ecosystems in Creative industries” Spring School 2022 in Paris.

For many centuries Italy has been known by multiple examples of companies and products that combine beauty, culture and capacity for innovation thus going beyond pure tech-innovation from STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. 

We bring the students to the beauty of Tuscany, in one of the Italian cities that are best known in the world for the presence of architectural and landscape wonders every year visited by millions of people.

“Il Bello” Pisa Summer School” is focused on connections and integration between entrepreneurship, arts and innovation. Pisa school is designed to enlarge your horizons on the merge of entrepreneurship, innovation and arts. Students will be engaged in interactive classes both with university professors and practitioners from business and arts, cultural visits and activities.

Italian and international lecturers and guests will present their companies and experiences, introduce several topics such as Entrepreneurship Innovation and innovation management – latest developments, How arts meet technology, Make the creative process fast and Bello, STEAM approach and STEAMpreneurship, Entrepreneurial marketing, Application of innovation and technologies in arts  industries and cultural experiences, Workshop on storytelling, photography, public speaking, thinking styles, social media, Ideating and pitching ideas, Commercialisation, social media & influencing, Value capture via the power of beauty, Companies and cCultural visits and guest speakers, Yoga and mindfulness. Apart from creativity and artistic competence development this study program includes unconventional materials on strange making, wrong thinking, sense-making to help students improve 21-st century skills and competencies. Art based practices consist of various workshops:  Photography Workshop, The Art of storytelling, Public speaking workshop, Yoga classes and mindfulness, Improvisation Workshop “Make the creative process fast and Bello”, How to create multimedia contents and become influencers.

In parallel to the daily study modules students develop their own projects to present at the end of the school based on the merge of their individual backgrounds and newly acquired knowledge. Every day we will try to convey to our students the passion for beauty, but also the skills necessary to transform something beautiful and precious into something useful, productive and that can be desired by consumers.
