
The 5th edition of the course Innovation, Creativity and Arts (ICA) in borderline situations for high impact entrepreneurship is organized in 5 days teaching and learning sessions, from March 20th to 24h 2023 at the Kaunas University of Technology in Kaunas, Lithuania. The final assignment submission deadline is April 30, 2023, evaluation by May 31, 2023.

The Innovation, Creativity and Art in Borderline Situations for High Impact Entrepreneurship Winter School is about next level creativity that disrupts existing patterns and transforms traditional and straight forward solutions by generating unconventional future oriented ideas.
The course integrates FLUXUS art/anti-art concept aiming for thought provoking, unconventional thinking, disruptive idea generation that encounters the biggest local, European and global challenges and crisis situations at the peak of uncertainty.
Course AIMS:
1. To expand student’s horizons towards the complexity and the variety of innovation management in modern society, while addressing real life local, European and global challenges.
2. To understand the needs, context, and importance of innovation management in the borderline situations and to learn up-to-date art-based, STEAM tools and methods facilitating the effective management of innovation and creativity for the high impact entrepreneurship.
3. To expand the student’s mindset on creativity, imagination, problem-solving and risk-taking by developing wrong thinking, strange making, antidisciplinary and other unconventional skills.
4. To apply transdisciplinary approaches such as photography and ethnography research tools to research the context of chosen challenges and Theater-based methods for developing high impact entrepreneurship scenarios and stakeholder involvement, enhance empathy and improvisation skills through performing.
5. To expose students to the design and art thinking and STEAM approach as a tools for innovation and to develop unique, unconventional solutions for proposed challenges. The final challenge is expected to contribute to all the objectives by providing art-related experiences in order to enhance the students’ creativity and innovation skills and knowledge.
Content
The course is teamwork-oriented, but students will also set individual learning goals and deliver personal daily reflections, providing personal and independent activities that support the group work.
Each day of the course include:
Inspirational lectures, in order to get knowledge on innovation, entrepreneurship, arts integration and art thinking, borderline situations and other topics.

2. Hands-on workshops to gain, improve, exercise, develop the skills of imagination, improvisation, envisioning, risk taking, resilience, uncertainty surfing, acting under unknown unknowns, wrong thinking, strange making, transdisciplinary problem solving and other skills.

3. Study visits/field tripsin order to explore Kaunas as a city of confluence for challenges, ideas and unexpected solutions by utilizing a FLUXUS art perspective as a response to critical Borderline situations.

4. Reflections and group work
Learning outcomes
After finalizing the course students should:
1. apply creativity, art thinking and demonstrate knowledge related to the use of FLUXUS art/anti-art concept and STEAM approaches into the idea generation and solutions for local, European and global challenges and crisis situations at the peak of uncertainty reflected in the final report.
2. apply art thinking and creative (unconventional) thinking styles to understand and to gain the critical art thinking, creative thinking, unconventional STEAMpreneurship skills needed to solve complex future challenges, wicked problems, act under high levels of uncertainty, embrace the crisis situations and unknown unknowns.
3. be able to define problems and challenges and create research design for the solution, apply different tools to analyze the problems, research and collect the data and to demonstrate they have grown as a STEAM professional by applying knowledge gained throughout the week in a collective performance and final report.
4. be able to reflect on learning objectives via a personal video report.
Modes of Study In total: 140h: lectures and exercises 42h (30%), final assignment 56h (40%), individual work 42h (30%). 1 ECTS = 28 hours
